To begin with this particular recipe, we must first prepare a few components. You can cook variation buns using 8 ingredients and 6 steps. Here is how you can achieve that.
The ingredients needed to make Variation Buns:
- Prepare 1/2 +2cups gluten free flour(wheat)
- Take 1 +1/2cup lukewarm water
- Make ready 2 tsp dry yeast
- Prepare 1/2 tsp sugar
- Get 1 tsp salt
- Get 2 tbsp butter
- Prepare 1/4 cup milk/beaten egg(I used both simultaneously)
- Take 1 tsp sesame seeds
These airy, twirled buns are perfumed with ample cinnamon and cardamom, then studded with pearl sugar in place of icing. For example, you've got "neat" and "messy" man buns. Neat ones are more tightly wrapped, with fewer stray hairs and most if not all of the hair coiled within the bun. Messy man buns are tied in a much looser and more haphazard fashion.
Steps to make Variation Buns:
- Take a bowl and add 1/2cup lukewarm water, yeast and 1/2 cup flour. Mix well and set a side for 10mins. This procedure is to check if your yeast is active.
- If your yeast is active the mixture will bloat up. Then add remaining flour, water, butter, salt and sugar. Mix well and knead well for at least 10-15mins. Rest the dough for 2hrs cover with wrapping sheet or closed container.
- After 2 hrs check the dough, it will be doubled in size. Knead well for 2 mins and make bun shapes of any shape as per your choice. Cover it with wet cloth and rest for 1 hour.
- After 1 hour brush the buns with egg or milk and sprinkle sesame seeds. I have splitted buns, added garlic and chilli for 2 buns. Sugar for 2 buns. Bake in preheated oven for 16min on 200°c.
- Once baked let the buns cool down completely. Before removing from tray just press the buns. If it bounce back, it's perfect. Serve with salad, dips and ready for burger too.
- Note: If you are using OTG Please check your manual and set the time. Resting time for dough and good yeast is very important for buns. You can also replace wheat with refined flour. I have used milk wash and egg wash just to show the result is same.
