  1. Get 2 cup rice
  2. Take 1 cup udad dal
  3. Prepare as needed water
  4. Take as needed oil for greasing

Idli is the traditional breakfast in South India, and also called as rice cakes.. Idli Manchurian, a delicious snack made using the leftover idlis is a fusion food of Indo Chinese and South Indian Cuisine. The process of making this manchurian is similar to Paneer Manchurian, but idli pieces are used instead of paneer cubes. First, the batter coated idli pieces are shallow fried or deep fried until crispy and then tossed in the machurian sauce.

Instructions to make Delicious idli:
  1. Take 2 cup rice. rinse the rice, drain and keep it aside. Cover it and soak for 4-5 hour.
  2. In a separate bowl take 1/2 cup udad dal. rinse it and soak for 4-5 hour.
  3. In a grinder jar, add the udad dal and add 1/4 cup water and grind it. Now drain the rice and grind it.
  4. Mix both the batter. add 1 tspoon salt. cover the batter and keep it in a warm place. keep it for 8-12 hours to ferment.
  5. The batter will ferment and increase in size. Now for making idli, take idli steamer. Add 2-3 cup of water and heat the water. keep the idli in the mould. and steam for 15-20 minutes. then remove the idli from the mould. and serve it with sambhar.

The process of making this manchurian is similar to Paneer Manchurian, but idli pieces are used instead of paneer cubes.
