  2. Prepare 3 tbsp Bombay Rava/ Upma Rava

  7. Prepare 3 tbsp Ghee

I used fine wheat rawa aka godhuma rawa instead to make it a little healthy. My mom's original recipe cooks in no time but fine wheat rawa doesn't take much time either. Steps to make Mom's Rava Payasam:
  1. Heat a pan and roast 3 tablespoons of rava, in one table spoon of ghee.
  2. On low flame until its aromatic.
  3. Add half cup water to roasted rava, let boil for a minute.
  4. Add half ltr boiled milk to the rava mixture, Cook on low flame till boil.
  5. Add 2tbps of sugar while stirring the mix, add two pinches of elaichi powder and 1 pinch of edible camphor (optional for more flavour and smell)
  6. Keep stirring till boil, then turn off the heat.
  7. Take a fresh pan, add two tbps of ghee and roast cashew and raisins (kaju and kismis)
  8. Once brown, add this to the rava payasam mixture.
