  1. Boil the milk, add saffron and let it simmer for almost 20-30 minutes, frequently stirring it. In between powder the green cardamom seeds and add that too. I prefer to use non-stick pot.
  2. With time the milk will reduce and start thickening, lower the flame and be careful, now it's the time you always have to keep an eye on it. When the milk has reduced by more than 80% add the sugar.
  3. Keep stirring it, keep the flame low always. It will take about 15-20 minutes for the milk to dry up and form the sweetened mawa with which we are going to make kesar Dudh Peda as seen in the picture. Don't overdry it. As it cools it will solidify.
  4. Now put it on a ghee greased plate and let it cool and come to room temperature for 3-4 hours.Once cooled knead it to form a smooth dough or you can take the help of mixer grinder too to smoothen it. Once smoothen,put some ghee on your palm,form small balls of it in equal size in-between your palm and flatten it and form a dent in the centre with your finger (optional).Garnish with edible silver leaf, Pista/ pistachio slivers, saffron and rose petals.
